Bio - Cydney Lebovitz
I am registered and a member in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). My specialties include mental health challenges, life transition and relationship difficulties.
Education
I obtained my Bachelor Degree in Philosophy and Ethics from the University of Ontario and my Master degree in Clinical Psychology from the Adler School in Toronto. Additionally, I hold certifications in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Adlerian Psychotherapy and Satir Family Therapy. I am also hold the designation of Fitness Instructor Specialist with Canfitpro.
Work Experience
In the field of psychology, I have worked as a psychometrist and psychotherapist for various public and private organizations in Southern Ontario. I am passionate about working with a variety of client challenges including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and relationships.
I feel fortunate to balance my work in psychology with a fitness career. Previously a top-level Dressage rider for the Canadian Junior Team, I travelled through North America, Europe and Asia training and competing. In 2009 I traded my stirrups for pedals and have continued to teach indoor cycling classes and train fitness instructors since then.
As such, I have a great interest in working with athletes and artists to help them achieve their performance goals.
Philanthropy
A great passion for giving back has led to my involvement with CAMH, ALFREDS and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada. At CAMH I founded a music group for the schizophrenic, schizoaffective and bipolar outpatient population which has been running since 2013.
I am also a member of the board of ALFREDS, the Adler Learning Federation for Research, Education and Delivery of Services, which is a non-profit organization that supports education and the practice of Adlerian Psychology.
Crohn’s and Colitis is a cause dear to my heart and I have participated actively in the CCC fundraising galas as well as facilitated seminars on Stress Management.
Sport, Fitness And The Mind-Body Connection
I believe that in addition to psychotherapy, healing our body can also heal our mind. Two of my favourite quotes are “Movement is Medicine” (Carol Welch-Baril) and "Life is Movement" (Alfred Adler). Living a healthy life is comprised of both psychological and physiological components and we are always searching for the perfect balance.
When not in the office you’ll find me on a bike, on a horse, golfing, travelling, walking my dog, at the gym or getting in touch with nature.

A former career as a personalized matchmaker helped me realize that more often than not, self-love is the key to making relationships work. Feeling loved, appreciated and seen are just a few basic fundamental human values that make us tick.
In the past I personally struggled with tumultuous relationships until I learned to value myself and realized that I was worthy of a great partner. I feel fortunate and grateful to
