Education
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Human Geography from Queen’s University. I have completed training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and participated in Last Aid training to support individuals navigating grief. I’m also pursuing additional training in somatic therapy to better support those who have experienced stress and trauma, with a focus on helping people regulate their nervous systems.
Work Experience
After several years in the business and marketing world, I found myself burnt out and unfulfilled. I knew something had to change, which led me to pursue a more meaningful path in mental health and counselling. This lived experience allows me to truly understand what it feels like to feel stuck in life and unsure of the next step.
Since making this transition, I’ve gained experience in a variety of therapeutic and academic settings, including a long-term care centre, an elementary school, and private practice. I’ve supported adults, youth, and families navigating challenges such as anxiety, identity loss and change, ADHD, emotion regulation, low self-esteem, grief, life transitions, and more. Through these experiences, I’ve learned that every person’s story is unique, and therapy should reflect that. I take a person-centred approach, creating a safe, compassionate space built on empathy, non-judgment, and genuine connection. My hope is to support individuals in exploring themselves, processing their lived experiences, and moving towards growth and healing.
I take an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from modalities including ACT, CBT, DBT, art therapy, mindfulness, and somatic practices to support each person’s unique needs. I believe flexibility is essential and am always open to adjusting my approach when something isn’t working. Above all, I value the trust and courage it takes to be vulnerable in therapy and feel honoured to walk alongside people in their healing. I hold deep hope for every client’s capacity to grow, heal, and create meaningful change in their lives, whatever that looks like for them.
Personal Life
Outside of my work, I live with my partner and our two cats, Bartholomew and Ollivander. When I’m not spoiling them with attention, you can usually find me curled up with a good romance or thriller novel, binge-watching the latest Netflix series, or bravely experimenting with new recipes (with mixed results). I enjoy early morning or mid-day walks with an audiobook or podcast, and I’ve recently set myself the goal of completing a 5K run, though it’s definitely still a work in progress.
I also love a good adventure, whether that means day trips to discover quaint shops or live music, hiking trails across the GTA, or traveling abroad to soak in history, culture, and the occasional ghost tour. Most of all, I value spending time connecting with others, whether that’s with friends, family, or even new faces along the way.
