Meet Marleen
I’ve been practicing EMDR since 2018 and became an EMDRIA-Approved Consultant in 2022. Over the years, I’ve supported clinicians at all stages of their EMDR journey, from newly trained therapists finding their rhythm, to seasoned practitioners working through stuck points and system complexity.
I’ve served as a coach at seven EMDR trainings across Canada and the U.S., and I bring that same structured, compassionate energy to consultation. My style is grounded, collaborative, and focused on helping you strengthen both fidelity and flexibility in the work.
What My Consultations Are Like
We’ll talk through protocols, pacing, blocked processing, nervous system overwhelm, and how to adapt to real-life clients while staying rooted in the model. But we’ll also make space for the internal work, working through imposter syndrome, uncertainty, and those quiet “Am I doing this right?” moments that most EMDR therapists wrestle with.
Consultation isn’t about proving yourself. It’s about growing your confidence, refining your intuition, and feeling supported in the work that asks so much of us.

Who It’s For
EMDR consultation is open to clinicians at any stage of their EMDR journey, including:
- Therapists who’ve completed Basic Training and want support integrating EMDR into their day-to-day work
- Clinicians working toward EMDRIA Certification who need hours with an Approved Consultant
- Seasoned EMDR therapists who want space to reflect on complex cases, deepen fidelity, or navigate blocks in the process
- Therapists working with dissociation, structural dissociation, or preverbal trauma who want guidance on how to approach this work safely
- Clinicians experiencing imposter syndrome or uncertainty, and who want to build confidence, not just skill
Whether you’re feeling stuck, new, curious, or unsure how EMDR fits your style, consultation can offer grounded support that meets you where you are.
What We Can Focus On
Every EMDR case is different, and so is every consult. Together, we can explore what’s coming up in the work and what’s coming up in you.
Common focus areas include:
- Blocked processing, looping, or stuck points
- When to stay with the standard protocol, and when to adapt
- Working with complex trauma, dissociation, and parts
- Resourcing, preparation, and readiness concerns
- Interweaves and working with unmet developmental needs
- Preverbal trauma and early attachment disruptions
- Pacing, titration, and staying within the window of tolerance
- Fidelity questions and certification prep
- The emotional toll of trauma work (and what to do with it)
We’ll go beyond technique to explore your intuition, presence, and confidence, as an EMDR therapist and a human being doing deep work.

How to Get Started
If you’re interested in consultation, the first step is to reach out. I’ll send you a short intake form to get a sense of your experience, goals, and current caseload.
From there, we can set up a free 20-minute call to explore fit, answer any questions, and talk through group or individual options. If it feels like a good match, I’ll guide you through the next steps and paperwork.
Whether you’re working toward certification or looking for deeper clarity in your EMDR work, you don’t need to figure it out alone. Let’s start with a conversation.
